Hell’s Diaries: Blades of Hell

Wonder what a PVP match between two Templars would be like? I’m curious as well so I tried to find some footage of the melee masters going head to head. One a Blademaster with his offense-centered skills while the other a Guardian, famous for his impenetrable defense. Who wins?

The video above shows the speed of the Blademaster as he tries to penetrate the defense of the Guardian but ultimately sacrifices his defense. The Guardian just stays put and bides his time to launch a planned offensive. While there’s really no one way to win in Hellgate, it seems that the strategy employed by the Guardian wins him this round. Would it be fair to call the Guardian a stronger class? Of course not. Remember, in PVP, it’s not whose stats are superior but whose strategy and skill is better.

The lesson here? Practice. A lot.

Hell’s Diaries: Guardian vs Marksman Deathmatch

In every game, there will always be debates on which classes are the strongest. Even though it is ultimately the player’s skill who determines the victor, players simply love to pore over strategies and skills that put their class on top. Of course, the only way to really see who reigns over who is through an actual PVP battle.

In the video above, two characters of whose classes are said to be the strongest in Hellgate Global are duking it out. From my point of view, the Guardian is having an easier time in the match which is possibly a result of his overwhelming defense. On the other hand, the Marksman has the advantage in range and possibly attack power which should make for an even matchup. So who’s the definitive winner? Both of them. Regardless of the outcome, both are excellent classes with the ability to rise over the rest in the hands of the right player. It’s cliche’ but it’s true. It’s skill that makes a character strong, not just its attributes.

Hell’s Diaries: Savagery

I’m not much of a PVP person. Maybe I’m just not good at anticipating what opponents are going to do or my hands don’t move as quick as I would like. However, I do appreciate a good PVP fight as a spectator and that’s what we have here today. Despite the lack of Templar posts here (most have been powerful ranged classes), this fight between a Blademaster and Guardian shows that even the melee masters can dish out the pain too.

It’s really amazing how these two players just savagely beat up one another and do it at such a fast pace. It’s almost like they’re anticipating the other’s moves already while preparing for their next attack.

Who wins the battle here? It’s up to you to find out but regardless of who won or not, it just shows how Hellgate’s PVP system really does allow for such a wide range of tactics, skill and carnage all at once.

Hell’s Diaries: To PVP or Not to PVP?

People often ask me if I play PVP, not just in Hellgate but for all games I play. Yes, I do play PVP but not as often as you think. For one, I’m not very good at it. Two, I’m a sore loser and lastly, I wouldn’t call myself a hyperactive combatant to say the least. However, there are people who love PVP to death and even play it more than the standard dungeon romp. Hellgate, as an action MMO capitalizes on this bloodlust by having a fast-paced and downright brutal PVP system which will definitely please a lot of players.

After watching that video, I think my knees just turned into Jell-O. I might try PVP one of these days but I most likely will end up chalking up a tick mark in the loss column.

How are your PVP skills? Do you like dueling other players to the death? Or do your prefer hacking demons instead?
